Holly Bright Joins Cbus Libraries’ Board

COLUMBUS, Ohio, January 12, 2021—Cbus Libraries, a grassroots initiative to champion libraries and the love of reading, is excited to welcome Holly Bright as one of its newest board members.

Holly Bright is the Campaign Accounting Coordinator of United Way of Central Ohio. Holly works closely with the regional nonprofit’s operations and finance departments, overseeing and reviewing millions of dollars in yearly pledges.

Holly is a graduate of United Way’s Project Diversity Pride Leadership Program. She serves on United Way of Central Ohio’s Innovation Incubator Committee and Knockout Poverty Committee.

“Holly’s experience in nonprofit accounting and passion for libraries and literacy make her a perfect fit for our next treasurer,” remarked Bryan Loar, Cbus Libraries Co-Founder.

Cbus Libraries enthusiastically welcomes Holly and is ready to continue to build engaging, community-based projects.

2020 OELMA Literacy Leader Award

COLUMBUS, Ohio, July 21, 2020—Cbus Libraries, a grassroots initiative to champion libraries and the love of reading, is excited to announce it has received the 2020 Ohio Educational Library Media Association (OELMA) Literacy Award! The Literacy Leader Award recognizes community organizations for their exemplary support and advancement of student learning.

In her letter of nomination, OELMA Past President, Dr. Susan Yutzey, stated:

In its five-year history, Cbus Libraries has enriched our community through expanding access to reading materials to those living in book deserts, including children. It showcases school libraries and librarians as essential champions of literacy and literature in the community. Most importantly, as a nonprofit it builds partnerships within neighborhoods to have conversations about literature. The mission of Cbus Libraries clearly supports literacy that reinforces student learning.

Cbus Libraries will be recognized at the 2020 OELMA Virtual Conference and Awards Ceremony, October 22, 2020.
