COLUMBUS, Ohio, January 3, 2019—Cbus Libraries, a grassroots initiative to champion libraries and the love of reading, is excited to welcome Dorcas Taylor Jones as its newest board member.

For over 17 years, Dorcas has risen in the communications profession. Currently she serves as Chief Communications Officer for the Ohio Housing Finance Agency.

Her passion for reading and learning translated into her professional career as a communicator. Dorcas has worked in government and non-profit communications with responsibilities including media relations, internal and external communications, vendor relations, and digital and traditional media. In addition, she worked as a radio reporter at WOSU Radio, one of Columbus’ two NPR affiliates.

Dorcas earned her Bachelor of Science in journalism, broadcast specialization, from Ohio University and her Master of Journalism from the University of Maryland, College Park. Her passion for libraries began with a 4th grade school trip to the Columbus Metropolitan Main Library and has extended to volunteering for the same system. Dorcas believes libraries are safe spaces to learn, grow and explore. Columbus is her hometown, and she shares her life with her husband Jermaine and two children.

“Dorcas’ strengths in communications and media relations are a valuable addition to the board,” remarked Cbus Libraries Co-Founder Bryan Loar.

Cbus Libraries enthusiastically welcomes Dorcas and is ready to continue to build engaging, community-based projects.
