COLUMBUS, Ohio, January 12, 2021—Cbus Libraries, a grassroots initiative to champion libraries and the love of reading, is excited to welcome Christina Dorr, Ph.D. as one of its newest board members.

With 32 years in public, academic and primarily school libraries, Christina Dorr, Ph.D. brings considerable experience to Cbus Libraries’ board. Since 2006, Christina has been an adjunct instructor at Kent State University School of Information—teaching future generations of librarians. Before retiring as a media specialist, she brought literary luminaries like National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature Jason Reynolds to the Hilliard City School District. Christina’s consultancy, OpenDorrs2Books.com, provides a rich menu of services to education and library systems.

Christina earned her Doctor of Philosophy in education from The Ohio State University, Master of Library & Information Science from State University of New York (SUNY) Albany and Bachelor of Arts from Excelsior College. She served on the 2020 Caldecott Committee through the American Library Association and is the author or co-author of four books, including LGBTQAI+ Books for Children and Teens: Providing a Window for All (2018) and forthcoming From Poverty to Possibility: Serving Children and Teens in Generational Poverty Through Literature (September 2021).

“Christina is a nationally respected leader in library and education communities, and we are honored to serve with her,” expressed Cbus Libraries Co-Founder Bryan Loar.

Cbus Libraries enthusiastically welcomes Christina and is ready to continue to build engaging, community-based projects.
